Expand your skills with The Tartan Trailing Awards. Our format is progressive, challenging and achievable! New teams will start on our Level 1 award, nailing those foundation skills and becoming a great team. Each new level expands your theoretical and practical skills whilst challenging your team work.

We believe in teaching component skills individually, before incorporating them into longer trails. Our skill up sessions will break each component into small, achievable exercises to ensure success at every stage. 

​

Our skill ups include components such as split trails, back tracks, tracking, vehicle pick ups and more.

​

Skill ups will be advertised on your instructors website, check out All Wagged Out and Cheeky Wee Rascals for dates.

These sessions will focus on skills such as; scent discrimination, indications, night trailing, the art of the trail layer, to name a few. Learn the skills as a team and then incorporate them into your trails.

 

Think of your skill up sessions as training FOR the situation rather than training directly IN the situation. Just like all dog training, learning and proofing the foundations are key to success.
